When Matt Ayoub’s British-Egyptian family moved to the Emirates in 1979, he enrolled at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi (ACS), an independent US-style school founded in 1972 with support from the US Embassy and land granted by the UAE government. After completing school in 1994 as part of ACS’ second graduating class, Matt moved to the US to attend college and pursue his career, eventually becoming an American citizen. When it came time for his children to attend school, Matt and his family chose to settle back in the UAE. His three children are now enrolled at his beloved alma mater where he now chairs the ACS Board of Trustees. Hear Matt share how this 50-year, UAE-US education partnership grew from a classroom of 27 to a school of 1,200, with plans for a new state-of-the-art facility set to open in autumn of 2023.
