Born in Alabama and raised in Dubai, Sara Ahli is no stranger to duality. After studying fashion design at California College of the Arts, Sara decided to explore an entirely new medium, pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in glassblowing at Rhode Island School of Design. With ties to both the UAE and US, she describes how her “in-betweenness” and the notion of space and place are reflected in her work and how the community of friends and creatives she has met in the US continue to support her journey.
