Dr. Tom Mihaljevic’s professional journey has taken him from Cleveland, Ohio to Abu Dhabi and back again. Before becoming President and CEO of the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Mihaljevic was a member of the organization’s world-renowned cardiovascular surgical team. He was also the CEO of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he lived for six years.
While in the UAE, Dr. Mihaljevic played a critical role to develop the most advanced medical center in the Middle East region and ensure that it would maintain the world-class standards of patient care set forth by the Cleveland Clinic. The hard work by Dr. Mihaljevic and his team of medical professionals was evident when Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi opened in 2015, and the first patients arrived for treatment.
