Helicopter pilot Mohammad Al Mulla and mechanical engineer Nora Al Matrooshi were selected from over 4,000 UAE candidates for the UAE Astronaut Program. They join the ranks of NASA Astronaut Group 23 and follow the footsteps of fellow astronaut Hazzaa Al Mansoori, the first Emirati to go to space. Mohammad, Nora and Hazzaa have trained alongside American colleagues at facilities across the United States, including NASA’s Johnson Space Centre in Texas, SpaceX HQ in California, and the US Army’s survival school in Fort Rucker, Alabama. Upon graduation, Nora and Mohammad will join Hazzaa in being eligible to crew US-led missions to space. Hear their stories of living and training in the US, and learn what it takes to earn your astronaut wings.
